LSB - FABRICLIVE x Soul:ution Mix
Drum & bass producer LSB (aka Luke Beavon), has put together another stonker of a 60 minute mix to get everyone's palette back up to speed after the end of year break. Incorporating the sort of measured and musical end of the spectrum, LSB's mix builds slowly, layering tracks that really maintain an awareness and a sense of space. Excellent.

Chimpo - Frontline EP [Soul:R]

More great new music from Soul:r's home city of Manchester. Chimpo is a local legend, he's been on the underground scene for years, DJ'ing and producing his homemade blend of multi-genre bass infused electronic music.
Also known also for his unique microphone skills, Chimpo's delivery style and wit is something to behold. These four tracks on the Frontline EP - out on July 15 2013 - showcase all of what Chimpo has to offer. A release that will stand out for being different and yet totally devastating on the dance floor. The vinyl release contains a huge remix of the title track, "Frontline", by Calibre that utilises Fox's vocal and flips the sound back to the days of jungle techno. Add also the deadly production unit of Dub Phizix and Skeptical on lead track "Buzzin" and you have a package that's pretty much essential.

Bungle - Astral Travel / Aura [SOUL: R SOULR60]

Word is that Soul:R boss Marcus Intalex asked Brazilian producer Bungle to make a tune for Soul:R. No pressure and no limitation, the former said.
And we couldn't agree more. For months now Astral Travel and Aura have been turning heads in Intalex's DJ sets all over the world as soon as they are played, with people rushing to find out what these tunes are.
No wonder. From what we've heard, this first single from Soul:R for 2013 sets the bar high with its melancholic yet optimistic vibes. Unfortunately it all finishes all too soon, leaving you wanting more.
Out soon at all good music outlets.

Phil Tangent 'Restitution' / 'Squaring The Circle' [SOULR059]

Marcus Intalex's favourite new artist of recent times, Phil Tangent, returns to Soul:R this month with his second single "Squaring the Circle" and "Restitution. His debut, "Billie's Smile / Lunar ", proved a discerning and unique musicality to Tangent's sound and demonstrated a level of musical depth, which is com- fortably at home in the Soul:r camp. His new single will solidify the deserved recognition for Phil Tangent's sound - a pitch perfect fusion of the soulful deep with the deep. Its mellow and spaced out vibes may sound odd in the current drum & bass climate, but there are real flashes of brilliance here that is too good to ignore. Out on Dec 10 2012, we can't recommend this enough. Go Seek.
