Utopia's 16^th vinyl single brings label stalwart Break into the fold once again for a hard hitting roller that has been getting reactions all over the globe since it got leaked into the top DJ's hands. The A side teams up the Symmetry boss with Utopia label honcho and recent Metalheadz addition Mako, with his long term partners Fields and Villem. The production and weight are unreal whilst retaining a woody rather than plastic aesthetic.

The flip sounds like a Lenzman classic but instead is brought to you by rising stars Chromatic. Growing in confidence, they have recently been releasing on Hype's Playaz label and are producing quality dance floor bass lines without the need for the screechy mid range bass that has become so prevalent in modern drum and bass.  Warm bass, beats and keys and no need for much else.

Fields - On Your Own [Utopia Music]

A solo release from Fields is always a joy and these two tracks definitely demand your attention. On side A, On Your Own packs a wallop with its gritty bass line. Side B Colours is slightly moodier but all the more satisfying with its irresistible groove. Well worth investigating this one, get your own HERE.

ANDYSKOPES - True Chord Redux VIP [Utopia Music]

Amen breaks. Chopped to oblivion. And rather good too. That's the pitch for the latest release by Andy Skopes, bringing to the kind of Amen led insanity not seen since the early Breakage records of the early 2000s. As far as dance floor stormers go, this one veers between the sublime and the outright mental. Imagine the sounds of Technicality, but brought to date for the 2013 massive. You need this in your collection right now.

Fields - BTC / Elemental (Utopia Music 009)

Sophisticated, techy yet deeply melodic, this upcoming single from Fields on Utopia Music is also teeming with rhythmic detail. The soothing melodies on Elemental is the perfect early hours crowd mover with its widescreen and spacious ambience. Flip track BTC takes a more menacing route: The tougher edged roller shines with its syncopated beats and darkside subs, perfect for peak time moments. Out on July 23, 2012 at the usual outlets. Go seek.

From Kongkretebass.com:This week KONGKAST we have one of Kongkast favourite Producer/label once again - the Bristol based UTOPIA MUSIC (UK) – represented by label owner MAKO.
It’s been a good year since we have had Mako on Kongkast. Since the last mix, Utopia has grew stronger with solid releases by BREAK, D Bridge, Mako & Andyskopes, Survival and The Sect. With 2011 just ahead, Utopia has a string of big releases lined up for the year, the label’s third release including BREAK’s – “Guilty Pleasures” and MAKO & SURVIVAL’s – “Freedom from Duality” to start the year, and furture releases by Villem, Fields, and Andyskopes, all within 2011. So expect some serious goodness coming out from Utopia.
