Pushy, real name Christophe Bergeron, defies classification. He is a french electronic music composer, who since 1983 has experimented with his music in theatre, cinema, contemporary dance and of course on the club floor. Considered a stalwart of the French electronic scene his music, which takes influences from environmental sounds, breakbeat and just about any sort of experimental music out there. His unorthodox methods of experimentation and adventure have brought him to a crossroads of the past, present and future. This EP, forthcoming on french imprint Kiosk, takes the listener on a sonic journey through the mind of Pushy. Out Mar 1, order HERE.

From deep ambient soundscapes to Amen tear outs, Episode 68 zigzags through the rough with the smooth structures of drum and bass to hallucinatory effect.
The first raw & coarse sound enthusiast from Origami Sound's overseas collective, Kalli of Manchester brings you a great example of techno craft that combines a few of his own abrasive tracks with contemporary dark club bangers, but we bet you'll have a hard time telling the difference. These days he's constantly gigging alongside big names from crews such as Swamp81 or School Records and release-wise he's got a number of upcoming surprises, among them his first EP with Origami Sound.

Calculon has truly showcased how vital that darkside jungle music can be these days, and through Shoot Recordings, Calculon is both bridging that gap and exploring it in exciting new ways.
The third Shoot release is going to be a beast; Pawn and Calculon linked up for the deadly “Larchmont,” and got Om Unit to rework it. This is said to be dropping sometime later this month (via digital download and limited-edition purple vinyl), and you can hear both sides of that release in Calculon’s official DAD mix, alongside material from Sam Binga, Nphonix, and Mark Pritchard, as well as that sinister Om Unit “Shadow Boxing” remix. You want to know where my head is? Close your eyes and wander off into this mix.

Damon Kirkham likes an alias, that much is clear. Formerly one half of Instra:mental (along with Al 'Boddika' Green), he operated as Kid Drama, before employing the Jon Convex moniker around the time the duo split around 2011. Details of the split remain sparse to this day, but what is apparent is that the sepration hasn't stopped the flow of quality music being released by Kirkham. Always operating with a sonic pallete that took note from - but didn't exclusively sitck to - Drum n Bass, he's now focusing on his output as Kid Drama, teaming up with former Autonomic collaborator d-Bridge as Heart Drive for a series of podcasts and some new material. With the podcasts focusing on a glitchy half-step and synth heavy electronica, it would appear Heart Drive is a new exciting chapter in Kirkham's perennially forward facing musical career.
Tracklist free, Hyp 165 takes in all facets of Kirkham's career, travelling from his Autonomic days to the present day revival of Kid Drama. Jungle, Footwork, Half-Step and DnB all fit in seamlessly as Kirkham keeps the quality throughout for an hour's worth of music that refuses to sit still for a single second.

After being in and out of the music game for some years now working alongside Silver and the North Base crew, Jasper Byrne aka SONIC is back with a first of many singles to come in the pipe line on the mighty NEMESIS RECORDINGS.
If you did not already know SONIC has been working on a award winning computer game called LONE SURVIVOR for the past 5-6 years. Recently released on the PS2, SONIC has now found time again for is first love and that is making beautiful music. Starting off the show with TIME'S FLOWING and again is a soon to be an award winning track, SONIC gets down deep and dirty with some hard 2 step beats and lashing snare to start. Erie winter sounds are conjured up in the intro until that catchy guitar riff puts you in a trance throughout the groove. Big boy reece fills out the bass end of this roller while the triply vocals of Jasper come in and out like a ghost in the night. Next up on the list is the amen tearer (and our personal favourite) HEADTOP. Once again beautiful intro takes control of your mind while the smooth chimes of piano take your soul until that raw beat just cuts right through like a knife! Kicking sub lines and special effect makes this a B side to take you back to the days of the amen, as SONIC shows us how a classic is done in a 2014 style. Already gaining support from the likes of LTJ BUKEM, MARCUS INTALEX, DUBPHIZIX, FUTUREBOUND,
ED RUSH & OPTICAL, FABIO and many more key players in the scene, be sure to be on the look out for more material from SONIC in the future months to come!
Zul (Subvert HQ, Singapore) has been DJing and promoting parties in the Lion City since the 1990s, performing along side the likes of dBridge, DJ Friction, Joe Syntax, Stamina MC, John B, A-Sides, Pendulum, Cyantific, Sonic, London Elektricity as well as Logistics and Hospital Records' Chris Goss. Gigs-wise, its gone from Hong Kong (he spent time with the White Label crew in 2001), Jakarta to London (playing at the legendary Hospitality parties in Shoreditch, UK) with bits of radio (MediaCorp Radio's Lush 99.5FM Clubscape sessions, to be exact) and a release on Take Off Records squeezed in between.
When not busy with his day job as a journalist in Singapore, Zul also keeps it cutting edge away from the dance floor with the Subvert Sessions Podcast (download via subverthq.blogspot.sg), blending together leftfield and idiosyncratic beats of the 170bpm variety.
